Boulders and Steps

The landscape at this home needed big boulders to contain the soil and also the considerable run off from the hillside.  After the slopes by the huge garage up top were graded and large boulders were locked into place, we moved across the road to tackle the bank that protects the yard.  We took apart the old timbers carefully, one section at a time and placed the huge boulders into place as we went, building up the height of the boulder wall.  The weather was uncertain and we didn’t want risk a wash out overnight and the old bank was less than stable.

Large stone steps were put in leading from the road down to the yard.  The owner is planning on adding to the existing concrete slab in the future.  We also removed a tree and put in a large area for plant and flowers.  This job was completed in Oct 2010 so hopefully we can add some more pictures this year when the planter is full and the grass has grown in.
